Going to The Big D and yes, I mean Dallas!!

So we are leaving today for Dallas! The State Fair of Texas is in full swing. Wyatt and Nathan have never attended! Say it isn't so! I plan on rectifying this situation ASAP! And I also plan on eatting, if we are being honest! :) Here's a list of the wonderful things to eat at the fair.
2010 Winners:
Fried Fritos Pie
Fried Beer (no thanks)
Deep fried Frozen Margarita (again, thanks but no thanks)
Deep Fried Smores--I'll have 2 b/c I didn't have the fried beer or margarita...hehehe
Fried Club Salad
Fried Chocolate
Fried Lemonade
Fried Caviar

And as always there's Corn Dogs, Fried-- Ice cream, cheesecake, corn, oreos, twinkies, snickers, chocolate chip cookie dough, PB&J, coke (and it's gross)..... and the list goes on! And yes that was just a list of fried things! Basically, we fry everything and anything!!

As for my angelic child, I have been preparing him for the last 2 weeks. For all those fairgoers, we all know who Big Tex is. But, if you are a Texas Virgin, please refer to picture below . Bix Tex greets you at the front gates and says, "Howdy Folks" in a low southern accent. Well, I have taught it to Wyatt and he thinks it's absolutely hilarious! He even laughed for the doctor today when I did it! And then the shots came and there was no laughter, just tears! All is better now and we start our adventure! Pictures will follow I'm sure!

                             2. Wyatt's 1st Christmas!!!!
                             3. The 4 F's.....family, food, football, & fun
                             4. Presents aren't a bad thing. ;)
                             5. Lights and cold weather

Does it get any better than this? I think not!!!

Get Your Coats and Hats too...

I know I missed blogging about the first day of Fall! I had great intentions, but it just didn't happen! So HAPPY BELATED FALL, Y'ALL!!!!

Also, The Farmers' Almanac came out 2 weeks ago! Looks like it's gonna be another cold one for us, but not so bitter cold as last year! This never steers me wrong...

Wyatt watching TV

After Wyatt's breakfast, I usually put him on the floor to play a bit. This week I turned some country music on the TV to keep him entertained and started cleaning. When I came over to check on him, because he was soooo quiet, this is what I found...
Poor guy wanted to see it so bad!

The Roll Reenacted

On Sat, last week, Wyatt decided to roll over for the first time! I don't think it was intentional as it scared him and he started crying...BIG TEARS!!! I didn't have the video camera on me at the time, but I got him to reenact it for everyone, minus the tears. Enjoy!

Technology at it's finest!

So this week we discovered a technological miracle in our household......

Netflix meets Wii!!!!!!

How did we not know about this sooner???? I am so addicted to it now, which is probably not a good thing, but hey it's perfect for feeding times with Wyatt! So for all those out there in the dark, check it out! It's worth the $9.00/ month!!

Marriage = Compromise

Nathan and I have been wanting a grill, well ever since we got married, but we wanted to wait until we had a backyard/ porch to put it on and use. In WA we were in a 3rd story apartment, so that was a no no! Anyway, since moving to College Station its become #1 on our Get List. In discussing what we would like to get, I want gas grill...he wants charcoal. As with any marriage there is always compromise!! So we are getting both. Take a look at our new grill which will be purchased soon with $150 worth in gift cards...compliments of the US Army!! (we had to put the move on credit card until they reimbursed us, so we got all the points. Smart.......I think YES!!) So the next time you're in town, we'll have to grill! As to which side we grill on, well that will just depend on who is grilling I guess! :)
Half Gas/ Half Charcoal (can buy smoker attachment)

WE REMEMBER

Today is such a special day in our history and our family. 9/11 marks the day that America was attacked! To all those that lost loved ones that day, we remember! Thank you to all those that serve/ have served in our military, fire and police departments. 9/11 was the reason Nathan decided to join the military. Our family is grateful to him and his sacrifice on behalf of of us. We Love You!

May God bless you and may God bless the USA -- President George W. Bush

We Part Ways :(

So every Wed night is date night for Nathan and I, thanks to Kathy!! HOORAY!! Anyway, tonight we decided to do dinner at SouperSalad. I used to have SouperSalad at least once a week when my office was located in Dallas. I LOVED it! A light meal, healthy, variety, inexpensive, what more could you ask for?? There was no SouperSalad in WA, among other things, so when I saw it last week I told Nathan we HAVE to go there!

SO SAD!!! It was absolutely horrible! Limp salads, hard bread, and the soups had about a 1/2 inch think top on it. YUCK!! What a disappointment! :( So we part ways SouperSalad and me. No more!! It's a sad day! Perhaps I will let Nathan choose the spot for dinner next week!!

    Tropical Storm Hermine

Since moving from the rainiest state in the country, we were so excited for the sunshine!! Well that was until Tropical Storm Hermine decided to form in 1 day! WOW!!! We've had rain for 2 days now and not just any kinda of rain...BUCKETS of it!! Today our window in our living sprung a leak! Yes that's right, 1 month in and our house is leaking! Doesn't make me feel that safe for Tornado Season! Eeeke!

Look how long I am...

Best Buds!

We were a little worried that Avery was gonna have a hard time adjusting to Wyatt, but as you can see she loves him!! Sometimes she gets a little jealous, but for the most part she is great.

Some things never change

Last weekend we all were able to get together for the first time in a couple of years. My brother, Keith, wanted to recreate a picture that was taken when I was a baby. He got his wish...30 years later. See below.
