Birthday Cake

After his hair cut we went back for some burgers and cake in the backyard. Where it was a lovely 70 degrees...not what we are used too. I had to grab a sweatshirt by the end because I was cold. This TX blood is to thin for that kind of weather! :)

By the end of day, he had had enough! Bed time for sure!!

1st Hair Cut

On Wyatt's birthday day we decided to go and get a haircut. He did great! He sat so still and when it was done, he got a balloon! He looks like a little boy now, not a baby!

He isn't too sure about it though!

He was happy the entire time!

Big smiles!

All done and mesmerized by himself in the mirror!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!!!!!

WOOOHOOOO!!! We did it! We made it to 1 year! WOW, how time flies when you are hav'n fun! This little guy has brought so much joy to our lives that I don't know what we did before him. It was this day 1 year ago that I didn't think I could take it anymore! :) LOL!! Funny how the Lord shows us we can do more than we think. We have Wyatt's 1 year check up scheduled for when we get back to TX, but for now he is doing great and a happy healthy kid!

On my way to deliver 10 months pregnant.

California or Bust!!! (Leg 1)

So, we set off for CA on Jun 3rd for the 1st part of our month long vacation!! Hopefully, I can remember everything that happened. Wyatt did great on his 1st flight as far as crying goes. As for sleeping, well he decided to go to sleep 20 mins before the flight landed...lovely! High altitude must help his digestion as well because I had to change him 3 times on a 2 hr and 45min flight. So not fun to do that in a lavatory. However, it was that or smell him for hours!

Once we landed in CA, we headed to a YUMMY crepe place, Creme de la Crepe, in Long Beach for dinner.
It was sooooooooooo delicious! Wyatt got to see Grandma and Grandpa Salerno again. He didn't remember them, but warmed up after a little bit. Grandpa Scott's mustache intrigued him and he wanted to kiss him so he would feel it. Super cute! Wish I would have gotten a picture, but I was horrible at picture taking...

On Sun, my brother and sis in law came in town with their 2 kiddos! Finally, cousin time!!! Wyatt was not sure about Spencer in the beginning, but I think they became great friends by the end of our vacation. Here they are playing ball. We had a few up's and down's, but for the most part I think they really enjoyed each other!

Here are a few pictures of us hanging out in CALI!

Inspiring Moments

So tonight I left the boys at home and went to do some light grocery shopping for the week at HEB. I love our HEB here. All the employees are always so helpful and SOOOO incredibly nice when you get to the checkout. I never have to wait in a line, etc. etc. Anyway, tonight was no different, except that when I got up to swipe my card, I noticed the bag boy was a little different than most and it made me smile. He had a smile from ear to ear and you could tell he was proud to be a bagger. After the transaction went through, he finished putting the bags in my cart, but not before he said, "Hi, how are you today?" I responded with a smile, "I'm great and you?" He smiled even bigger if that was at all possible and said, "GREAT!! I have a few more hours of work, but it's ok!" You see this boy had down syndrome, it was apparent. The checker said, "Thank you. Here's your receipt. John can help you out!" I smiled and declined because there were only a few bags and I could manage. He smiled big again and said, "Have a great night!" Then he started bagging the next transaction as happy as a lark! I wanted to just hug him he was so cute!!

It got me thinking on the way home about my nephew who just recently turned 4. He has down syndrome as well and he couldn't be more happy than to just be here on this Earth. He smiles and laughs just as the boy that bagged my groceries tonight. It made me smile and think that one day he'll be able to do the same. So happy belated birthday to my nephew who makes me smile just thinking about him....and to the bag boy at HEB, thank you for making my day just by being you!!

First time I got to hold him (so tiny)

Love that smile!!!

4 years old and handsome as ever!!

1 Week to Go...................

The countdown officially begins!!! 1 week and my baby will be 1!!!!!!!!! How did this happen so fast?? It was this time 1 year ago that I was due! I felt like a ticking time bomb. Every night I went to bed, I wondered if this were the the night... more like wished it were the night! HA!!! He had other intentions! He wasn't coming out if he had anything to do with it!! I will try and update the blog from CA where we will be spending his b-day. At least for a couple of weeks, then onto UT and MT! Let the vacation/ party begin!!!
