Christmas 2010

This year we had a few new additions to Christmas. First, Nathan was able to be here for the first time since we've been married. I'm so grateful that we had him here as his comrades weren't able to share Christmas with their families. Duty calls....

In addition, Wyatt got to celebrate his 1st Christmas. I don't think he understood anything, but he sure loved to open the presents and all the pretty lights. We read the story of the birth of our Savior in Luke to him and he was so quiet and calm. It's so fun to have a new little one around to celebrate with. I look forward to the many years to come!

Playing Catch up!!

Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile. I did ultimately come down the an upper respiratory infection, which I couldn't kick. After a week of antibiotics, I had to go back for another round and a steroid shot. That did the trick! HALLELUJAH!! Being sick is no fun with a baby! I was so worried I was going to get him sick too!

On another note...we have tooth #1!!!!!!! Yes, that's right. Tooth #1 made an appearance on Saturday morning at 1am. Needless to say, we didn't have a happy baby. I don't think he went to sleep until 3am. Poor little guy! He acts as if another is on it's way. So maybe we will have 2 front teeth for Christmas! He'd better hurry!

As for the crawling, well he is up on all fours and rock'n!! We purchased a new rug last week so it would be a little easier on his knees. So, with any hope he'll be around in no time. I could wait a little longer, but he just gets so frustrated when he can't move! I want him to stay little for a bit longer. They grow up so fast!!

We went to Houston for the weekend (see picture below). Wyatt LOVES car rides, especially trips! Avery jumps on to make sure she isn't left behind. She freaks out when we start packing up. The shakes begin.

Look at that smile!!!

Houston is great because it's only an hour and a half! PERFECT!! We decided to take his changing pad instead of his crib. Mainly because it's only 2 days and we felt like we were taking everything but the kitchen sink with us. So, we thought we would give it a go. Wyatt likes to scoot all over the place and we found him asleep in some weird positions. See below. He loved hanging off the end for some reason! of course we moved him back...what kind of parents do you think we are??

Most accidents happen 10 miles from your house...so true!

So today was just one of those days!

I have been feeling bad the last couple of days and made a doc appointment today. Turns out I have an upper respiratory infection! :( It's hard to be sick and a mom. Wyatt doesn't understand that mommy is sick and not feeling up to playing. Poor guy! Anyway, Nathan went to a follow up doc appointment this afternoon (about his ear). All is looking good and he goes back again in 6 weeks. Still can't hear out of that ear, but that's normal. On his way home he swung by to look at a crib that we liked on Craigslist. He decided it was a great deal! $60 and in good condition! SCORE!! On the way home, just a 1/2 mile down the road, he came around the corner to see a truck swerve into his lane. The SUV in front of him (with a kid under 2 yrs old) had time to turn off onto another road, but poor Nathan didn't have the chance. He decided to go off road to miss a head on collision. Unfortunately, he couldn't get far enough away as the truck got the back of him and slammed him into a metal fence. Fortunately, he missed the big tree and the driver's side door!! The truck continued on and hit the fence and flipped. All people were fine. THANK GOODNESS!! Such a blessing!! The driver was a bit shaken and we still are not sure what happened?? Did he fall asleep? Was he looking down to get something?? Or did he pass out? I guess we'll never know! I am just so grateful Nathan is alive and without injury!

A small thing I know, but the crib......well it didn't make it!! Some of it went flying! So long $60! :) It's ok, just ironic huh?

So long Toyota Tacoma! You were a great truck!!!!!
